Sandalwood Street, Nightcliff

The additions improved the day to day experience of the occupants, negating the unpleasant parts of living in the tropics. Harmoniously adding to the original building has increased its character, while working with existing patterns has, sympathetically improved and upgraded the home. Site draining issues were resolved by directing water to soakage trenches and gardens then ultimately returning water to the aquifer, Roof overhangs are greater, resulting in shelter from sun and rain. The inordinate number of windows provides the opportunity for natural ventilation and day lighting.

As a result there are large spaces for family amongst the fronds of the frangipani and some new small spaces that are intimate, very unusual and special.
